The most popular video streaming website, YouTube has thousands of videos on nearly every topic imaginable, all user submitted and free to watch. The videos are currently offered in widescreen format, though most videos upload retain the original 4:3 aspect ratio. In addition to widescreen, videos can now be uploaded and viewed in high quality.

Videos on Youtube are often short homemade movies, but many record labels are now releasing low-quality versions of their most popular music videos on the website. If you're looking for a recap of the latest sports game, news cast, or speech, Youtube is your best option.

Pros: Youtube offers 16:9 aspect ratio, high quality video playback, support for nearly every video format, a large audience for your videos, the ability to embed videos on a blog or website, video reply feature, customizable personal video page, the ability to limit video access.

Cons: While the website is wildly popular, it does have a few problems. There is an excess of spam comments, a video limit of 100MB, and only standard-quality videos can be embedded on blogs or websites.

2. Vimeo.com

Vimeo is a sophisticated, free video sharing website. Basic users are allowed to upload up to 500MB of video content per week, or pay for an account to upload more. Vimeo attracts a wide array of video artists, and is often used to upload short movies, skits, and portfolios. Cons: Because Vimeo is so frequently used to upload large movie files, it can take over an hour to convert a single video.

3. Metacafe.com

Metacafe rocketed to popularity with their page view money earning system. Many videos on the website are duplicates from YouTube, but in addition to that content, there is a wide array of video tutorials on many subjects, including DIY hacks, magic, and science experiments. If you're interested in making money off your video's page views, Metacafe is the ideal website to use.

Pros: Metacafe has a popular pageview payment system, which allows users to be compensated for their videos. In addition, videos can be downloaded with a link under the video or embedded on blogs or websites. The website has many high-quality tutorials.

Cons: Metacafe increased it's video resolution, and many of the videos are now pixelated due to up-sampling. Many videos are clones from Youtube.

4. Hulu.com

The first website to legally offer a wide array of free TV shows, Hulu was founded by NBC and offers dozens of free TV series, both current and off-air broadcasts. Some of the TV shows offered includes: The Simpsons, Family Guy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Office.

In addition to offering TV shows, Hulu also has a catalog of movies available to watch, including such popular shows as: Spy Game, Liar Liar, Ghostbusters, Men in Black, and The Karate Kid.

Pros: Hulu videos can be viewed in 360p for slower Internet connections. Popular clips are available for recent and popular TV shows and movies. New series are available, with new episodes appearing up to a week after aired on cable. The website is completely free. Videos can be purchased and downloaded. A personal queue can be created for favorite content.

Cons: Videos can no longer be embedded in blogs and on websites, high definition video streaming is not available for most videos, and ads are displayed three or more times per video. Website is available to US residents only.

5. Veoh.com

Veoh is a video content website, but has made a name for itself by partnering with different companies to offer TV shows for free. Offering TV shows not available from Hulu, you can watch popular shows such as: The Big Bang Theory, Friends, According to Jim, CSI, and Everwood.

In addition to a large supply of free TV shows, Veoh also offers user submitted content, including animations, home videos, and funny clips.

Pros: Videos stream in higher quality resolution. The original video files can be downloaded and saved to a hard drive for later viewing. User submitted content can be embedded in blogs and websites, shared directly with friends, and saved to a personal favorites list.

Cons: Commercial videos are only available for users located within the US.

How to Install Filezilla Server

The following article provides System Administrators with instructions to help them implement an FTP solution to allow for successful file exchange with their servers from remote locations. Although Windows comes with an FTP server installed by default, we recommend FileZilla FTP Server as an alternative.

Benefits of FileZilla:

secure file transfer via SSL/TLS (can be required) or even Kerberos
takes up little hard drive space (max is ~10.3 MB)
comes without the IIS security concerns you would have if you deployed FTP services via Windows (IIS required)

To install FileZilla server, please follow these steps:

Log into your server through Terminal Services or Remote Desktop Connection.
Open a Web browser and load http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=21558
Scroll to the bottom and download the latest install file under FileZilla Server, FileZilla_Server-0_9_23.exe.
Once the download completes, run the .exe file.
Read the License Agreement and choose "I Agree" to proceed.
Select the components you wish to install and click Next.
Select the Destination Folder and click Next. We recommend using the default settings.
Select how the services should be started and click Next. We recommend using the default settings.
Select how the server interface should be started and click Install. We recommend using the default settings.
Click Close to finish the installation.
Click OK to connect to the FileZilla server.

Once installation is complete, you may begin creating FTP users in FileZilla.

Sharing a Broadband Internet Connection

If you have an existing network, and you’ve just installed a broadband link to the Internet, you can make that link work for all your existing computers, whether the link is via satellite, cable modem, or Telco digital subscriber line (DSL). You should check with your Internet service provider (ISP) before you do so, however, because their policies vary. Most don’t mind customers sharing access among their own PCs. Most do mind customers sharing with friends or neighbors. Some don’t care, and some flatly forbid it and actively seek out users who share in any way. As mentioned in the previous chapter, you should base your choice of ISP on this policy question as well as on other factors.

The simplest way to share an Internet line is to purchase additional Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from your ISP. No providers complain about this method, because they make a profit on the exchange. Prices may vary from $3 to $10 per month, assuming that your ISP is willing or able to sell extras.You will need one for each PC you plan to connect. Afterward, all the PCs will have to be interconnected through a hub or switch, which will also have a line to your broadband modem.

It is possible to achieve the same end by using a clever device that selectively channels traffic between the broadband link and your client PCs. It is called a router. This function can be carried out by a dedicated PC running special software or by a piece of special-purpose hardware. Many hardware routers are made more cost effective by including built-in firewalls
and high-speed switches, which makes them an increasingly popular solution for broadband sharing. Software and hardware routers are Network Address Translation (NAT) devices. They emulate a single PC when they connect to your ISP. They will even perform an auto-logon if they have to. Afterward, any traffic destined for a PC in your home is directed (routed) to it as though it were the only PC, even though you may have several. Similarly, any traffic from any PC to the Internet gets funneled into one DSL line. This provides an extra measure of security for your PCs because to someone on the outside it appears as though only one IP address is active. In this way, a NAT router acts as a firewall.

Another measure of security is gained from the range of IP addresses distributed to the clients, because they belong to a special class:
- 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
- 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
- 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 (the most common)

Addresses in this range function like any others, with the exception that Internet routers won’t pass them along. This means that your PCs are more isolated and therefore more protected. A hacker trying to access any of your addresses within these limits will have no luck, as his or her packets will hit an immediate dead end. DSL and cable are full-time Internet connections.

They make your PCs easier to find and more vulnerable to attacks from malevolent hackers than they were on your old dial-up connection. This is especially true if you have a static IP address since a hacker can automatically “bookmark” your home network and return to it at leisure.

The first attempt at a wireless standard was the HomeRF protocol, which did not catch on because of its slow (1.6 Mbps) speed. It was replaced by the
802.11 standard, which ran at 1 or 2 Mbps. Because of its limited speed, it is also history. In 1999, the IEEE added the “a” and “b” refinements.

Products conforming to the 802.11a standard operate at speeds of up to 54 Mbps on a very short-wave frequency of 5 billion cycles per second, or
5 gigahertz, abbreviated GHz. Its speed advantage is offset by its shorter range, which is typically 50 to 200 meters. Unlike the more popular b standard,
it uses a modulation scheme with the hefty name of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) that makes possible data speeds as
high as 54 Mbps and cuts down on cross-channel and reflected-signal interference. More commonly, communication takes place at 6, 12, or 24 Mbps.

Today the most widely followed standard by far is known as IEEE 802.11b. It moves data at a top speed of 11 Mb ps in the 2.4 GHz frequency
band. It is more prone to interference than 802.11a, but the lower frequency gives it a longer range, estimated at between 75 to 300 meters.

The 802.11g standard is now under development and discussion by members of the IEEE, but it won’t become official until released in 2003.
The g standard will be backward compatible with the b standard and will operate on the same 2.4 GHz frequencies. But it will be faster at 54 Mpbs
and less vulnerable to radio noise. Its greater capacity makes it a promising media for wireless streaming video.

As often happens with a burgeoning technology, as soon as the Committee handed down the standard, it began amending it. Other additions are in
the IEEE pipe:
1. 802.11d and h will accommodate European regulations governing radio devices.
2. 802.11e is due in January 2003. It adds quality of service (QoS) features.
3. 802.11f will add protocols that enable data sharing between disparate systems in 2003.
4. 802.11i addresses security holes in the present standards.
5. The Wireless Next Generation (WNG) specification seeks to combine all the above into one universal standard.
6. Ultrawideband (UWB) was granted a limited license in February 2002 for use in the 3.1 GHz and 10.6 GHz bands, but only indoors or in handheld peer-to-peer applications for now.

Reflash Bios in MS-DOS Mode
1. Extract the downloaded ZIP file to your hard disk(s) or floppy disk. This procedure assumes drive A.
2. Restart the computer in MS-Dos mode. (For Windows 2000/XP, you need a startup disk to restart the computer in MS-DOS mode)
3. Change the command prompt to A:\>
4. To back up the current BIOS, at the A:\>prompt, type [BIOS flash utility name] -s [BIOS file name] (example: gvf18 –s X73G8DR.f1) and press Enter.
5. To flash BIOS, at the A:\> prompt, type [BIOS flash utility name] –p [BIOS file name] (example: gvf18 –p X73G8DR.f2) and press Enter.
6. Wait until it's done, then restart your computer.
Reflash BIOS in Windows Mode
1. After installing the display drivers, you will find a GBT icon in the lower-right corner of the Taskbar. Right-click to select the @VGA utility
2. Update BIOS through the internet

Select the Live Update check box and click Flash. Then @ VGA will automatically download the BIOS for your card from GBT @VGA server and do the update for you. (@VGA will not download/update the BIOS if it detects the current BIOS on your card is the latest one).

Update BIOS NOT through the internet

Download the BIOS ZIP file for your card from GBT website and extract it to your hard disk (or floppy disk).
Select the From Local File check box and the click Flash.
Select the BIOS file from your hard disk (or floppy disk).
Complete the update procedure following on-screen instructions.

Question 1 : I cannot see some options that were included in previous BIOS after updating BIOS. Why?

Answer : Some advanced option are hidden in new BIOS version. Please press Ctrl and F1 keys after entering BIOS menu and you will be able to see these options.

Question 2 : Why is the light of my keyboard/optical mouse still on after computer shuts down?

Answer : in some boards, a small amount of electricity is kept on standby after computer shuts down and that's why the light is still on.

Question 3 : How do I clear CMOS?

Answer : If your board has a Clear CMOS jumper, please refer to the Clear CMOS steps in the manual. If your board doesn't have such jumper, you can take off the on-board battery to leak voltage to clear CMOS. Please refer to the steps below:

Step 1, Turn off power.

Step 2, Disconnect the power cord from MB.

Step 3, Take out the battery gently and put it aside for about 1 minute (Or you can a metal object to connect the positive and negative pins in the battery holder to make them short for 5 seconds).

Step 4, Re-insert the battery to the battery holder.

Step 5, Connect the power cord to MB again and turn on power.

Step 6, Press Del to enter BIOS and load Fail-Safe Default (or load Optimized Defaults)

Step 7, Save changes and reboot the system.

Question 4 : Why do I still get a weak sound after turning up the speaker to the maximum volume?

Answer : Please make sure the speaker you are using is equipped with internal amplifier. If not, please change another speaker with power/amplifier and try again later.

Question 5 : Sometimes I hear different continuous beeps from computer after system boots up. What do these beeps usually stand for?

You can learn how to install Joomla on your website in a number of ways. However, the simplest and by far, the quickest is through Fantastico. This usually takes about 1-2 minutes once you know how. In this article, we are going to cover just that.

So, here is the step by step process for installing Joomla on your own website.

Log in to your hosting account's Control Panel. This should usually be http://www.mydomainname.com/controlpanel, where 'mydomainnane' is replaced your own website that is hosted on that hosting account.
Look for the smiley icon that says "Fantastico" and click on it. This is where you will be installing the Joomla package from. Note that Sometimes, it may say "Fantastico De Luxe." Don't worry it is the same thing. Much like saying "my room" and "my bedroom" ;)
Look for "Joomla" under the "Content Management" category of scripts in Fantastico and click on it. Also, note that the title 'Joomla' may sometimes have some numerical suffixes showing which version it is. For example, the title may read "Joomla 1.5" for version 1.5 of the CMS. Just click on the most recent version and go to the next step.
Look for the hyperlinked blue "New Installation" link and make sure you have at least as much as the minimum disk space required for you to install Joomla on your website. This is usually about 25 MB of disk space. This is not usually a problem, with most people's disk space running into the tens of gigabytes. But it is still good to make sure you have enough to hold a new Joomla installation.
Choose where on your website you want to install Joomla. Will it be on your main domain, an existing sub-domain or a new not-yet-existing sub-domain or directory? Indicate it in this part of the installation process.
Fill out other required fields that are required to smoothly install Joomla on the site. This includes creating an Admin username and password. Don't choose 'Admin' and 'password' as your username and password. Many people do this and have been hacked. Also, fill out the site name or main keyword, email address and other details here. Then click the "Install Joomla" button.
On the next page, make sure that all the needed information is correct. Also, note down your Admin username, password and backend page (the one that ends with /administrator). Finally, hit that "Finish Installation" of a button.

Voila! You have just learned how to install Joomla on your website. This should usually take only 1 or 2 minutes at most. After all, all you are doing is just hitting buttons, except for when choosing a username, etc.

Inkjet printers offer a print technology that offers professional printing for the home and small business user at a minimal cost, often for the cost of one or two hundred dollars. Unfortunately the exorbitant cost of the replacement ink cartridges soon brings the dreamers of d.i.y. high quality printing (which lends itself to the concept of savings) back to earth.

A set of ink cartridges often cost more than a new printer.

In fact at one stage in the evolution of inkjet printers, it was cheaper to buy a new Canon BJC210 printer which contained both a black and color cartridge, than it was to buy a new black, and a new color cartridge for the same printer from a retailer! It is obvious from this example to work out where the profit for the printer / cartridge manufacturer was.

With the high cost of replacement inkjet cartridges there are many developments in the market for reducing the cost of printing with desktop inkjet printers.

Options included:

* compatible inkjet cartridges
* refilling inkjet cartridges
* continuous inkjet delivery systems

Each of these alternatives offers ways to reduce the high cost of manufacturers inkjet cartridges while still producing quality inkjet prints.

Savings varied with the method employed and the type of cartridge involved.

Savings from as little as 10-20% are offered by some compatible cartridges. Other "simple" cartridges which contain very little technology often offer savings around 60%.

Refilling inkjet cartridges often saves of around 50% where the end user employs the services of a professional refiller, while refilling a cartridge as end user gives greater savings (and sometimes greater frustration).

The greatest saving can be achieved with many inkjet printers is by using one of the alternative continuous ink supply systems. Due to the investment of the ink supply system, a reasonable volume of printing is required to return the greater savings.

Our computers have many different parts inside them that all need to work together. It is imperative that they run concurrently with no problems. When we take apart a computer we are left with many individual components. These components we find are graphics cards, RAM, processor, cooling fans, power units, hard drives, CD drives, wireless cards, special media card readers, sound cards, battery packs, that are all connected to the mother board. If one of these parts doesn't like the other it can cause major errors for your computer and how your computer may run. It could even result in your computer running slower than normal.

For example, in one of our company's computer that was built by us we had a graphics card that did not like the mother board connection for some reason. Unfortunately we did not know this at the time and it took us about two weeks to figure it out. This caused the graphics to constantly have a delay. Sometimes the delay was tolerable but other times the delay was so bad that you would move the mouse and the pointer would start to move on the screen 5 seconds after we moved the mouse. We would shut down the computer properly and restart and most of the time it ran perfect again like it had no problem at all but later on it started to act up again. We updated all the drivers, talked to the people that make the graphics card, changed out the monitor thinking it was that. After working out all the bugs that naturally come with a self-built computer we found a guy that worked for the company that produced the mother board that we were using and even though they claimed that our graphics card was compatible he admitted obviously it wasn't. He swapped out our graphics card for free and our computer has never been stronger.

The good part of this story is that in today's world many of the companies that make these components are doing their best to make sure everything is universal. CAUTION:
Before installing the CPU, please comply with the following conditions:
1. Please make sure that the motherboard supports the CPU

2. Please take note of the one indented corner of the CPU. If you install the CPU in the wrong direction, the CPU will not insert properly. If occurs, please change the insert direction of the CPU.

3. Please add an even layer of heat paste between the CPU and CPU cooler.

4. Please make sure the CPU cooler is installed on the CPU prior to system use, otherwise overheating and permanent damage of the CPU may occur.

5. Please set the CPU host frequency in accordance with the CPU specifications. It is not recommended that the system bus frequency be set beyond hardware specifications since it does not meet the required standards of the peripherals. If you wish to set the frequency beyond the proper specifications, please do so according to your hardware specifications including the CPU, graphics card, memory, hard drive, etc.

Note: HT functionality requirement content:
Enabling the functionality of Hyper-Threading Technology for your computer system requires all of the following platform components:
- CPU: An Intel Pentium 4 CPU with HT Technology
- Chipset: An Intel Chipset that supports HT Technology
- BIOS: A BIOS that supports HT Technology and has it enabled
- OS: An operation system that has optimizations that has optimizations for HT technology

A. Installation of the CPU
Step 1, Gently lift the metal lever located on the CPU socket to the upright position.

Step 2, Remove the plastic covering on the CPU socket.

Step 3, Notice the small gold colored triangle located on the edge of the CPU socket. Align the indented corner of the CPU with the triangle and gently insert the CPU into position. (Grasping the CPU firmly between your thumb and forefinger, carefully place it into the socket in a straight and downwards motion. Avoid twisting or bending motions that might cause damage to the CPU during installation)

Step 4, Once the CPU is properly inserted, please replace the load plate and push the metal lever back into its original position.

B. Installation of the CPU Cooler
Step 1, Please apply an even layer of heat paste on the surface of the installed CPU.

Step 2, (Turning the push pin along the direction of arrow is to remove the CPU cooler, on the contrary, is to install). Please note the direction of arrow sign on the male push pin doesn't face inwards before installation. (This instruction is only for Intel box fan)

Step 3, Please the CPU cooler atop the CPU and make sure the push pins aim to the pin hole on the motherboard. Pressing down the push pins diagonally.

Step 4, Please make sure the Male and Female push pin are joined closely. (for detail installation instruction, please refer to the CPU cooler installation section of the user manual)

Step 5, Please check the back of motherboard after installing. If the push pin is inserted properly, the installation is complete.

Step 6, Finally, please attach the power connector of the CPU cooler to the CPU fan header located on the motherboard.

Note:
The CPU cooler may adhere to the CPU as a result of hardening of heat paste. To prevent such an occurrence, it is suggested that either thermal tape rather than heat paste be used for heat dissipation or using extreme care when removing the CPU cooler.
